Clicker 5 and Cloze Pro activities
I really enjoyed today's class. It's not often that teachers have the time to work together and to explore software programs that can benefit our students. I can definitely understand where classroom teachers are coming from when they say that they would like to use technology more often with their students but don't have the time to explore what's available, never mind creating lessons from scratch. That's why I think that it's essential for software companies and educators share the lessons they have developed. I plan to check out the ready made activities for programs, such as Classroom Suite, that we have installed on a number of computers at my school. I think teachers are much more receptive to using these programs when activities are ready to use or require only minimal changes to meet particular students' needs.

I agree Paula, we never have enough time to explore so ready made exercises that we can quickly modify/adapt are important. Sharing is the key! It is sounding like most classmates really enjoyed the time to learn about the software on Sat. and then have time to work together in groups developing our lessons. We need more of this type of learning and time - perhaps outside of us paying for it. Pam
I also think that the pre made programs are beneficial, but I also think that you get a far better understanding of the program when you have to learn to create lessons form scratch. It is my hope that as teachers get a little more comfortable with the software that they will do both. awesome job this weekend paula
I think it would be a great job for someone to make programs for student profiles. You could do genaric or custom. Hmmm.

I agree Paula! One thing that we have working on through the Dept of Ed is a database of activites that teachers have tried and that work. It certainly can give you a good jumping off point. Although I also think that it is essential that we have the opportunity to play with the software as well. Now to only find the time in which to do that.
